One argument I keep seeing is that abortion should be legal because otherwise we will have back-alley abortions with coat hangers and such. Thus it is better for it to be legal. It is not like anyone is forcing it on you.
There is a serious problem with this train of thought. That does not matter. Not one bit. It is not important if there will be more unsafe, back-alley abortions, because abortion is something that cannot be tolerated legally, under any circumstances. Why? Because it is murder. Plain and simple, abortion is murder. Legal, it may be safer for the woman, but what about the child. The child does not win with abortion, it is killed. We simply cannot have state-sanctioned murder, regardless of effects on women when it is outlawed.
