There has been this persistent myth about George Bush and Iraq that has been circling around, seemingly under the radar. Critics claim Bush intended to go to war with Iraq when he first took office, that he wanted revenge, etc. This is pure skepticism, of course, but it is also logical that perhaps Bush did enter office with some sort of intent of removing Saddam. After all, it was official US policy.
That's right, his removal was official US policy after 1998. Of course, it did not stipulate going to war with Iraq, but it illustrates that Bush was not the only person in America who wanted Saddam gone before 2001.
